Redakto

Redakto

Fix and improve what you write in any text field — using Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano model, entirely on your device.

Coming soon to the Chrome Web Store

How it works

Type in any input, textarea, or rich-text editor on any website. Once there's enough text, a small Fix button appears next to the field. Click it, and Redakto rewrites the text in place. Review the change — Accept, Keep original, or Try again — before it sticks.

Five modes

FixImproveFormalCasualConcise

Fix only corrects spelling, grammar, accents, capitalization and punctuation — it never changes your tone, meaning, or length. The other modes rewrite more freely.

100% on-device

Every correction runs locally through Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano model (the Prompt API). Your text is never sent to any server — Redakto has no backend at all, makes zero network requests, and works with no internet connection once the model is downloaded.

Supported languages

English, Spanish, Japanese, German and French — the languages officially supported by Chrome's Prompt API in multilingual mode. The interface itself is available in all five.

Before you start

Gemini Nano needs a one-time on-device model download (~4 GB) and a couple of Chrome flags enabled. Redakto's own popup walks you through both with a direct link — no copy-pasting required.
